Subject: War Crimes

Dear Gush Shalom,

I sent the letter below to the newspaper you referred to. Being a
non-Israeli outside of Israel it won't be published of course, but it adds
to their pile.

If there is a specific threat to your organisation, please let me know, so
that I can alert the foreign ministers in Australia and Japan. They too will
ignore the issue, since I don't live in Australia and I'm not Japanese, but I'll
do what I can.

Yours sincerely,

Philip White

Dear Editor,

Israel is committing war crimes in the Occupied Territories. Protecting
those who commit war crimes is a crime. Exposing those who commit war crimes is
a duty.

In the context of the current actions of the Israeli government and
military, warning people not to commit war crimes is absolutely necessary,
for the sake of those who become the victims of those crimes, as well as for the
sake of those who might otherwise be misled into committing such crimes.

I therefore support Gush Shalom. I hope their war crime monitoring campaign acts
as a deterrent to those who might otherwise commit such crimes and leads to the
prosecution of those who do commit them, right up to the highest leadership in
the Israeli government.

Yours sincerely,

Philip White
