Dear Colleagues,

The warnings sent by Gosh Shalom to Israeli officers regarding the
possibility of war crimes are the most patriotic actions that any group of
Israeli citizens could take. If such crimes are in fact committed in defense of
Israel then the long term stain on Israel's legitimacy and respectability as a
nation would be great. Any precaution against either the willful or inadvertent
commission of such crimes is the duty of citizens in a democracy. Whatever the
cause, some actions are surely beyond the pale in the recognized laws of the
international community. Thank you.
